AbstractThe American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA), AFL-CIO is a federation of unions representing approximately 20,000 public school principals, vice principals, administrators, and supervisors in diverse school districts across our nation and in the U.S. Virgin Islands. A strong advocate for quality public school education, AFSA is proud to be the only national education organization providing labor, professional, and occupational services to members. AFSA supports its members' goals of professional excellence, dignity, and collective security. Formed in 1971, AFSA received its AFL-CIO charter in 1976, proudly joining the ranks of the 13 million working women and men of the AFL-CIO.
